Gutter repair prices

|---|---|
| Reseal a leaking corner or end cap | $150 – $250 |
| Re-hang a sagging run, hidden hangers (per 20 ft) | $150 – $300 |
| Re-hang with stainless hardware, waterfront | $180 – $350 |
| Replace a downspout (upsized to 3x4) | $120 – $220 each |
| Add a downspout to a long run | $180 – $300 |
| Replace a damaged 10–20 ft section | $200 – $450 |
| Fascia board replacement | $8 – $20 per foot |
| Downspout extensions or splash blocks | $25 – $80 each |
A visit that covers two or three of these is usually $300–$600. Storm damage is priced the same way; there is no hurricane rate, and we document it for your adjuster at no charge. The gutter repair page describes each job.
Seamless gutter installation prices
| System | Per linear foot | 150 ft single-story block ranch | 220 ft two-story |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5" aluminum, 2x3 downspouts | $10 – $13 | $1,500 – $2,000 | $2,200 – $2,900 |
| 5" aluminum, 3x4 downspouts | $11 – $14 | $1,650 – $2,100 | $2,400 – $3,100 |
| 6" aluminum, 3x4 downspouts | $13 – $17 | $1,950 – $2,600 | $2,900 – $3,800 |
| Stainless fasteners, waterfront | add $0.50 – $1.00 | add $75 – $150 | add $110 – $220 |
| Copper | $38 – $60 | $5,700 – $9,000 | quoted |
Tear-off and haul-away of the old system is included. Fascia repair is a separate line. First-time installation on a home with no gutters sits at the bottom of each range because there is nothing to remove. Gutter installation cost Tampa quotes run a little above the national average because 3x4 downspouts, .032 aluminum and stainless hardware near the water are the norm here rather than upgrades; the installation page explains why.
Gutter guards
Aluminum screen $5–$9 per foot; stainless micro-mesh $10–$18 per foot. On a 150-foot home that is roughly $750–$2,700 depending on the type. Cheapest when installed with new gutters, because the crew is already at every foot of the run. We do not install reverse-curve guards; the gutter guards page says why.
Gutter cleaning
Single-story $120–$200, two-story $180–$300. Priced by the house, and the fee comes off any repair we find. See gutter cleaning.
What moves the price
- Stories. Two-story work costs 15–25% more for the ladder and safety setup.
- Roof complexity. Every inside corner is a miter. A hip roof with ten corners costs more per foot than a simple gable.
- Tile roofs. Setting a gutter to catch the tile overhang without walking on it takes longer; expect the top of the range.
- Fascia condition. The biggest surprise on older homes, and why we probe before quoting.
- Pool cages and lanais. Routing downspouts around an enclosure and tying into a super gutter adds time.
- Salt air. Stainless hardware within a couple of miles of the water adds $75–$220 on a typical house and is not optional.
- Color. White, brown and the common trim colors are stock. A specialty color may add a week and a small charge for the coil.
A worked example
A single-story block ranch in Carrollwood with 155 feet of gutter, four downspouts, one soft corner of fascia, a hip roof with six corners and a screened lanai across the back: 5-inch .032 aluminum with 3x4 downspouts at $13 a foot is $2,015; eight feet of fascia at $12 is $96; extensions on four downspouts at $40 are $160; one buried drain line from the lanai corner at $300. Total about $2,570, one day, no tear-off because the house never had gutters. The same house quoted at $1,400 is almost certainly .027 metal, 2x3 downspouts and spike hangers, with the lanai corner left to drain onto the pool deck.
Reading a Tampa gutter quote
Ask for the aluminum gauge (.032 over .027), the hanger type and spacing (hidden, every 24 inches), the fastener metal if you are near the water, the downspout size, and whether fascia and haul-away are included. A quote $600 under everyone else's is usually thinner metal, spike hangers and 2x3 downspouts, which is how the gutters you are replacing were installed the first time. What the price per foot buys goes line by line, and questions to ask a gutter contractor covers the license and insurance side.
Any gutter estimate Tampa contractors hand you should be free, in writing, and good for at least 30 days. If someone needs an answer before they leave the driveway, that is the sales model talking, not the price of aluminum.

First-Time Gutters on Block Homes →Questions we get asked
Is it cheaper to repair or replace gutters in Tampa?
Repair, if the gutters are aluminum, under about 20 years old, and the problems are in a few spots. Replace if they are sectional, rusted steel, or more than a third of the runs need work. Patching adds up to the price of a new system without the warranty, and near the water it is usually the hardware that is gone, not the gutter.
Does homeowners insurance cover gutter damage in Florida?
For sudden wind or storm damage, usually yes; for age and wear, no. Most Florida policies carry a separate hurricane deductible, often 2% to 5% of the dwelling coverage, so a $900 gutter repair after a named storm may fall under it. We photograph and document either way so you can decide with the numbers in front of you.
How much are gutters for a 1,600 sq ft block home in Tampa?
Usually 140–160 linear feet of gutter, so $1,400–$2,200 for 5-inch seamless aluminum with 3x4 downspouts on a single story, and $1,900–$2,600 for 6-inch. Add a line for fascia if any of it is soft and a drain line if the lanai corner needs one. That is a typical range, not a quote.
